A long term policy is crucial to have between the United States and the Soviet Union. The Soviets are still going to try to spread communism, and although the United States may not be able to help those countries already dominated by the Soviets, they can prevent it from spreading elsewhere. The Soviets and the United States will never agree and have the same policies. The United States is evidently the stronger nation, and will eventually ware down the Soviets.
